OUR COMMITTEE
With a focus on collaboration, the Jersey Athletics Committee works closely with affiliated clubs, coaches, volunteers, and local organisations to build a vibrant future for athletics on the island. Their mission is to ensure that every athlete — regardless of age or ability — has the opportunity to participate, progress, and achieve their potential.
The committee is dedicated to guiding and growing the sport of athletics across Jersey, with a strong commitment to inclusivity, community engagement, and athletic excellence. It plays a key role in implementing policies, organising events, and supporting clubs and athletes at every level.
Made up of passionate members with expertise in athletics, sports management, and community development, the committee works to create a well-structured and thriving athletics environment. This includes supporting youth development programmes, encouraging participation across all age groups, and establishing performance pathways to help athletes reach the highest levels of competition.
Key Responsibilities of the Committee
Strategic Leadership: Setting the direction for athletics in Jersey and aligning it with the organisation’s mission and vision.
Event Coordination: Planning and delivering inclusive competitions and events that offer opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Club Development: Supporting affiliated clubs with resources, guidance, and best practices to help them grow and succeed.
Performance Pathways: Developing programmes that nurture emerging talent and create routes to success at national and international levels.
Youth Engagement: Creating initiatives to inspire, develop, and retain young athletes, particularly those aged 15 to 24.
Through this collaborative approach, the Jersey Athletics Committee is shaping a strong and sustainable future for the sport — one where athletes can thrive and the athletics community continues to grow.
